Operations
The Operations page (/operations) lists every install, restart and configuration change, with its logs. It
needs operations:read; aborting needs operations:abort.
What the screen shows
| Element | Content |
|---|---|
| List | operation, status (filter All states), progress, author (By), creation date, duration |
Detail (/operations/<id>) | Stages and tasks: stages run in order, the tasks of a stage run in parallel; each task shows its host (or manager for a server task), its status and its exit code |
| Task logs | live logs of the selected task; a failed task shows the end of its log |
The operation types, stages and task types are listed in the operations reference.
Actions
| Button | Effect | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Abort | queued tasks are cancelled; running tasks finish first | operations:abort |
| Retry failed tasks | a new operation from the failed stage (only a failed or aborted operation) | operations:abort |
Typical tasks
- Follow an install. Open the operation, select a task to read its logs while it runs.
- Fix a failure. Read the end of the log of the failed task, fix the cause (host, configuration, mirror), then Retry failed tasks.
