Lifecycle

The Lifecycle page (/lifecycle) runs the lifecycle of the platform services: profiles, preflight, approvals, drift detection, backups, upgrades, support bundles and installation acceptance. It needs cluster:read; actions need cluster:manage, configs:edit, services:install or services:operate.

Actions

SectionButtonEffect
ProfilesUse this profilesets the profile of the cluster (rules and approvals of the operations)
PreflightRun the preflightchecks every requirement of the installed services
ApprovalsRequest an approval, Approve, Rejectapprovals of the disruptive operations required by the profile

Support bundlesCreate a support bundle, Downloadoperation support.bundle, sanitized archive
Installation acceptanceRun the acceptance, Verify the signatureoperation acceptance.run, signed report (offline check: navin-manager verify-report)

Typical tasks

  1. Upgrade a service. In Upgrades, choose the version and the canary host; the operation upgrades the canary, runs its smoke test, then the other hosts. Rollback brings the previous release back.
  2. Prove an installation. Run the acceptance, then download the signed report and check it with navin-manager verify-report --file <report.json>.
