Alerts
The Alerts page (/alerts) shows the health of hosts, services and the Manager itself, the alert definitions and
the notification targets. It needs alerts:read; acknowledging and managing targets needs alerts:manage.
What the screen shows
| Element | Content |
|---|---|
| Open alerts | severity, message, object, since, Acknowledged state |
| Definitions | built in definitions (heartbeat, disk, memory, load, prerequisites, components, certificates, failed operations, the Manager), Enabled or not |
| Notification targets | email, webhook or syslog targets |
Actions
| Button | Effect | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Acknowledge | records a Note shown to the other operators; the alert stays open until its condition clears | alerts:manage |
| New target, edit, Delete target | notification targets | alerts:manage |
| Test | sends a test notification (Test notification sent) | alerts:manage |
Typical tasks
- Take an alert. Acknowledge, explain what is being done, fix the cause; the alert resolves by itself.
- Send alerts by email. Set SMTP in Settings, then New target of type email and test it.
